Default Where to look for job openings besides Craigslist

Where is the best place to look for available jobs in San Antonio? Craigslist is flooded with bogus posts so it is hard to look there. The newspaper doesn't have too many things either. I know with the economy the job market isn't good but I keep reading that San Antonio hasn't been affected very much.

I am just looking for some sort of admin, sales, customer service type job where I can make at least $10 per hour base. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Try USAA.com...I think they are always hiring for customer service.

Go to Indeed.com, and beyond.com also.

Good luck.....I honestly don't know what the job market is like, because thankfully I've got one, but I'm sure there's hope for you!

Thanks for your response. I was thinking more of places where local business owners would publish job openings. The huge national online listings usually include only large corporations or locator ads. Ideally I would like to see a phone number or address and call or stop by. I have found that e-mailing or submitting a resume online gets no response.

There are a bunch of call centers for customer service jobs.....West, Chase, Aetna, Caremark, USAA, QVC, Wachovia, Hartford Insurance....lots of these are located in the Westover Hills area.

Also, try the hospitals.....Christus Santa Rosa, University, Baptist....there are more, but I think they hire for patient registration, etc.

Also, try the Alamo Colleges, and other area colleges...UTSA, St. Mary's, Trinity, UIW....they all have clerical/customer service-type positions.

Hope that helps to get you started.

*sorry, just read that you don't really want to apply online, so sorry!!! I am not sure of anywhere that has what you are looking for.

Ever consider working for the government?

USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site

You can search for jobs in San Antonio on that site.

Cheers! M2

indeed.com is an awesome site. It combines all the sites (monster, careerbuilder, linkedin, etc) in to one search. Of course, you have t comb through the bogus ones, like you said, but you have a better chance at finding "the one" that way.

network, network, network!

Go to business happy hours and "lunch and learns", get yourself out there. Go to job fairs and make friends.

E-mail the contacts, family and friends you feel comfortable with and let them know you are looking.

Socialize with your employed friends, send them you resumes, make yourself available.

Great luck to you.
