I was using the Altima at $22,500 as an example, obviously a camaro is in a different class and would expect tp pay more than the other cars. FYI camaros start in the mid 20's , but granted that is only the v6. Geez sounds like none of you have ever tried to negotiate on a car, you just accept the price they give you. The last car I bought I got an additional 6000 off , and that was NOT including a 1500 rebate 500 internet coupon. Bringing it to $8000 off the orignal amount of the car, had them throw in my 4 free tanks of gas, and an ipod.

Good luck finding a camaro at that price. Like I said previously all the camaros we've seen on dealer lots are priced well in to the UPPER 30's.

Huh? I didn't read that anywhere on here.

This weekend is the last for the CARS program. Its over, the money is gone. If you have a clunker you want to get rid of or trade in, do it now. No more after Aug 23. The dealerships right now aren't negotiating too much, they are using the CARS program as their biggest incentive, also most of the new car prices are almost exact MSRP. After Monday, the incentives from dealers will come back, and the dealerships will beg for your business, right now, they are acting like they are doing you a favor by selling you a car.

Its easy to get $6k off of the price of MSRP, or an inflated price, but when you take a trade in and they want to try and tell you that after you trade it in, you will still owe more than what the sticker price of the new car you were looking at shows, then you know there is some "Used Car Selling Tactics" going on. For what its worth, I been buying and selling cars for over 25 years, and in that time I have never paid the asking price, and I am not afraid to walk out of a dealership.

I am going to assume you mean the folks that use Gunn Nissan.
I shopped at other dealers and got the best deal for the price at Gunn Nissan. Some of the other dealerships that I visited when looking for my Sentra were awful in sales tactics, customer services, etc. and at the end of the day they twist things around so much that it looks like freebies but are added somewhere in the price.

Which is exactly why we're waiting sinsativ. We went to a dealership just to look and I just felt like I was being treated like...I don't know...it was just uncomfortable and just this feeling of they were doing me a favor. I don't know...it was just odd to me. Then the salesman asked us what year our Durango was and started to explain the CARS program. Told him I wasn't interested in the CARS program and the gov't can keep their money and I'm going to keep my gas guzzler. Funny how the attitude changed and seemed to be much more accomodating to show us around the lot. We told him we were just pricing vehicles, didn't want any info, and basically to leave us alone.

You got it Hadley, just wait till all the 2010's come out, next week, the end of Aug, the 2009's that are left on the lots and the dealers are going to start begging you to buy. If not at the end of this month, maybe because of the CARS program, they may have had a good month in sales and not need it to keep their jobs, but next month then, end of Sept. then they will offer big discounts for even walking onto their lots. That is when they will remember what a customer is.

I bought a Honda Civic from Gunn Honda and later a Honda Odyssey from the same place. I was afraid to buy another Honda after having a really bad experience up in Arlington at a different dealership; but was extremely impressed with how Gunn did business. Absolutely no pressure to buy, the sales reps were wonderful, there was no haggling to deal with. I take my Hondas there to get serviced because I love the customer service. I've visited other car dealerships in the area and Gunn, in my opinion, is the best. A car dealership where the customer doesn't feel intimidated or bullied, or have to haggle. Imagine that!
