I have never been on section 8, but I do know the feeling of finding a decent rental that doesn't break your wallet. We live in a three bedroom apt that runs for $1200 a month. What they don't tell you until you actually sign a lease is that they have a workforce program that goes by your income so we actually only pay $830 a month. I would ask around at different apt places and see if they have this program. $600 is not enough for a place now days and I wish you luck.
