I've noticed that the Target at Blanco and 410 has a uniformed security guard who is equipped with a Segway poised next to the entrance. I haven't seen that at any other Target store in town. I imagine it would be entertaining to see the officer pursuing someone across the parking lot on the Segway.

I've seen these funky scooters I guess is what they are at about 3 or 4 targets. http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/res.../police_x3.jpg Link is the pic of the scooter but it has the Target logo on it.

Oh I saw him too! I was waiting for him to hit his head on the sliding door when I saw him segwaying around. :lol

They've got them at Ingram Park Mall too. Mainly used on the inside. Vehicles are still used outside. I'm waiting for one of those "mall rats" to steal one.

Gosh...back in the 70's when people were getting 8-track tape decks ripped out of their cars, they had security guards at the malls. It's definitely not a new thing....maybe just more businesses are getting smart?
Imagine, a security "Officer" chasing an "8 track" thief on a Segway?!
I can't believe we had these two technologies brought up in the same thread.

I think it would make a great Simpsons episode!

There's usually an armed guard at the HEB at 410 and Marbach. But from what I've seen, they hang out inside the doorways and not in the lots. There is a cart riding around as well, but I'm not sure if they're armed or not.
