My sister and I are in San Antonio for almost 1 year, we live close to the HSC but we're going to buy a "NEW" home !!

Considering how much we can afford, we have narrowed down to 2 neighborhoods: Rivermist (on Prue Rd. near ro Bandera) and The Park at the University Hills (on Hausman Rd. near I-10). Both built by Centex Homes, Zip 78249...

We both work in the Health Science Center, just trying to figure out which location is nicer, where has better traffic and is more convinient for living (ex. groceries...)?

I don't know anything specifically about the neighborhoods, but I pass by Rivermist in the mornings and it looks very nice. Prue Road is a nightmare at around 7:15-7:30am, don't know when it clears up. It's just 2 lanes there until you get up to Westfield, then it starts to move a tiny bit faster, but I think it's pretty clogged all the way to Fred. Rd. I turn at Babcock so I miss all that! Anyway, sorry I don't have any info on the neighborhoods for ya. Good luck in your new home, wherever it is!

Woodthorn subdivision off Hausman A+++. Currently Prue has way too much traffic! Also, Hausman is great if you need to get to both 1604 and I-10.

I personally like River Mist a whole lot more than University Hills. Also, the main road through River Mist is Kyle Seale, which will be connecting to 1604 in the near future.

Margaretwey - where did you chose. I am also considering Rivermist but am doing this from Hawaii. Any insight you have would be appreciated - work from home so traffic is not an issue. Just want a nice neighborhood with shopping close by.

Default Prue rd construction

Speaking of Prue Rd, find out how long the construction will continue? Prue road has been completed blocked now for 6 months and buying any house that 'needs' to use Prue, will be impacted. When they do fix Prue, I'm sure more people than now will return to using it as a throughfare.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by May of this year.
