Yes it was mostly the response of the waitress, Believe me, as a kid I use to work in restaurants and I don't even want to say what I did or happened at those places, so I understand. Of course in those days there was no HIV, swine flu ect, Not saying you can get aids from salad, but there seems to be a lot more illnesses that everyone needs to watch out for these days and try to be as sanitary as possible.

Agreed. I go out primarily for the atmosphere. I'd like to think that I can come close to matching most restaurant meals in my kitchen with my wannabe culinary skills. Can't exactly match a nice outdoor setting in the middle of my living room.

I LOVE Pei Wei! The best dish there IMO is Mongolian Chicken spicy with white rice, no mushrooms. Each location makes it a little different, though. The one at I-10/Huebner and in Alamo Heights make it the best!

Growing Produce - Lettuce Growers' MVB

Organic growers in California treasure the syrphid fly, their “Most Valuable Bug.”

C'mon, this guy is far from a roach.

Default Bugs: Healthy Plants Defend Against

A short story to stir up the mind:

You are what you eat, said the organic fed plant. You see, bugs don't like us when we're fed healthy organic food. Why you ask? You see I make my own scent, a scent created by various minerals and nutrients flowing through my roots, and yes this makes me strong and healthy, so when you eat me, I pass it on to you. So you see, you are what you eat.

Now, about your bug problem. Bugs like to zero in on unhealthy plants, because, if a plant appears to be unhealthy, the bug or in your case, the fly attacks it.. Nature sure has a funny way of taking care of her-self!

You can read about worm castings and how earthworms have co-in-sided with nature. mark@earthsoutlet.com
