Silver Creek 78250: Search results for river north

This is a pretty good documentary of the creation of it - basically revitalization north of downtown. Hopes are - increasing the pretty riverwalk north some will allow for new development there - which appears to be happening pretty quickly. I think it would be much quicker if the current economy wasn't what it is.

Actually, "River North" refers to the masterplan around the riverwalk extension, rather than just the riverwalk itself. AnthonySA posted a link, River North wins New Urbanism award (http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/River_North_wins_New_Urbanism_award.html - broken link),
in another thread.

It includes the Broadway Lofts (or whatever they are called now... but they're the abandoned concrete frame structures at Broadway and the highway), and stretches from the Municipal Auditorium to the Pearl.

See Insomniac's old post, River North - New Downtown District, for more details.

There was some controversy, but I believe the city adopted the masterplan.

I prefer San Antonio maintain a low profile. I like things just the way they are. Why mess with success?? It always seems newcomers want to change our success story to their liking!! I don't see this "Boom" coming!!!

Some people just want skyscrapers in a city to show importance or to go with size. It's actually quite a fetish with many people. I don't really care about that, I just hope downtown San Antonio becomes a better place to live and more dense.
