Default Cost of sprinkler installation and who do you recommend?

I live in San Antonio and my house is a 2000 SF one story that is on a 50x120' lot. There are 5' of grass on both sides of the house and complete grass in the front and back. I installated a 3" PVC conduit under my driveway when the house was being built (much to the anger of the home builder!!). Lot is only 6000 SF and the house+garage+patio take up about 2500 of it and that doesnt even count the driveway. Overall its probably less than 3000 SF to irrigate.

What can i expect to pay for a sprinkler system and who would you recommend?

My in-laws just paid $2700 for an entire sprinkler system installation on their 65' x 100' lot here in Houston...at least that gives you an idea, I can't imagine it would be that far off, estimate-wise. It's a Rain-Bird computerized system. Not the ultra-best, but not bottom-of-the-barrel. Kinda in the middle.

I would ask neighbors who have them on your street, and see how they like their various systems.

A quick search worded "sprinkler system" reveals 54 threads...not all are relevant, but I'm sure you'll get a lot of ideas.

I had sprinklers installed on a 50x90 section of my yard (adding in to an existing system) and it was $1200.

Sprinkler systems out here are outrageous because of the rock. I was quoted $3000 for my lot by Choate. I got the number of the workers themselves and they did a Saturday job for me. Same guys, same products, same truck even. It cost me $1800. Go for the Saturday job.
