Sounds like a good opportunity to suggest light-rail!

Also sounds like a good opportunity to get in there and hand out flyers at the meeting, with your web site's address and what it is all about. May attract some attention.

VIA is planning new bus routes for North San Antonio... wow. More over-crowded, stuck-in-traffic, fuel wasting, pollution generating, eyesore buses to run throughout the city.

^^Get some HOV lanes. The buses will move fast on it.

I doubt SA gets LRT anytime soon. The FTA is currently favoring BRT lines, unless the city can really show that ridership will be supported on the LRT line.

Oh, and if you all want some easy web designer, why not try out Mambo. It is free and easy to use. You can have members as well (they will register) and they can add comments, have their own blogs, etc. You have to have a server though.

Let the commuter rail to Austin be built, and then as San Antonians see the benefits of rail we can get started on building it in the city.

I like the idea of a BRT system in that it could lead to a LRT system in the future. Of course, only a stylish, efficient, and well planned BRT system. Look at this BRT vehicle guide - http://www.gobrt.org/calstart2006_brt_compendium.pdf

I like the APTS Phileas 80 + 85 (pg. 26) and the Wrightbus StreetCar RTV (pg. 27).
