Default Things to do in Fredericksburg?

My husband and I are planning a weekend getaway to Fredericksburg next month, and I'm hoping some of you can provide some ideas of things to do there. Favorite restaurants? Must see spots? A romantic B&B? Any insight is appreciated! Momma needs a weekend away!

If hubby doesn't like shopping for antiques or in stores that smell of candles, drop him off at the Nimitz Museum before you head over to those places. It's good entertainment for folks who like history and WWII and it takes 3-4 hours to see everything in the 4 buildings it occupies. Apologies if you like history and WWII, but I know that Mrs. Bowie had zero interest in going there.

A nice place that I recommend to eat or get dessert there is Home | Rather Sweet Bakery & Cafe | Fredericksburg, TX

depends on what you like to do. it's finally getting somewhat cooler, so if you're an outdoor couple you need to stop by Enchanted Rock for some nice views. you can stick on the main paths for an easy stroll, or go off path for a little rock climbing/hiking.

plenty of window shopping to be done in the town, and they have their own brewery which I found to be a neat place.

About 15mins to the East on 290 you can tour LBJ's ranch house known as the "Texas White House" which is meticulously restored to the 1960s era. Lots of things to see, including his antique car collection, graveyard where he and Lady Bird are buried, take a bus narration tour. Also cars are allowed to drive on the property if you prefer that, but the bus tour is really good as you get to explore the place with a group of people. There are park rangers on hand to give you a personal tour of the various buildings and historical artifacts.

Great suggestions! We're definitely up for a hike and will check out Enchanted Rock. I'm going to look into these other great sugestions, as well.

Any other restaurant recommendations? We're considering Cabernet Grill:

If you go to the LBJ ranch, include the Texas Wildflower Farm on 290.

If you are going in October I think the Wine Fest is in the latter part of that month. Ditto on Luckenbach. BTW the word came out today that it's official. We did break the Guiness World Record for number of guitar pickers playing the same song in unison with the officail number of 1868 on August 23rd.
