I think though there are many reasons that people decide to stay away from or seek out any particular restaurant in regards to:

Open air kitchen/Food odors
Seating - low chairs, booths, can't accomodate large parties
Price point
Patio seating
TVs/No TVs
Loud music
Healthy choices
Celiac options
Family friendly
Liquor license
Area of town, proximity to home
Dining times
Waiting time
Etc.

People already do a pretty good job of deciphering which restaurants are desireable for their circumstance.
So???

I still don't see how adding "dog friendly patio" is different from any of the mentioned desireable or otherwise undesireable attributes of a restaurant.

no, you can eat at home and i'll eat anywhere that the restaurant owner doesn't mind my dogs sitting with me. eating at a restaurant is not a right.

All of the things you mentioned are preferences. This is a health and safety issue at the very least.

I would suggest that if anyone is eating at a restaurant and someone sits down with their dog and isn't asked to leave that you ask for a refund on your meal.
