Ok....made the trip today. Wow.....there are a ton of vendors and a lot of mud right now. But PLEASE do not pass this up because of the weather. I was so happy to have mud on my very old sneakers than to be sweating up a storm at 100 degrees.
If you have not been and are new to Texas.....plan an EARLY day. It is about a 2 hour drive up to the area. It's a beautiful drive and beautiful country up in that part of Texas. Tons and tons of craftsmen, antique dealers, good food and great bargains. Round Top used to be the center of activity but many area farms and ranches have opened up their gates in Carmine, Winedale, Fayetteville and Warrenton plus other towns.
If you've been to Canton, this far exceeds anything in Canton, TX.
Here's the link to the calendar and shows that are available.
AntiqueWeekend.com™ - Texas Antique Weekend Shows & Events - Round Top - Warrenton - Fayette County, TX
Be ready for rain or shine, mud and cow patties. Some parking is free...some is $5.....and there are some entrance fees into some of the Pavillions such as Marburger Farms show...(the plus there ...no cow patties or mud)
Don't think about staying overnight if you haven't made reservations...everything is filled. Not sure about camping availability.
The show started today and will go through next weekend...(10 days). Keep in mind the by the end of the week, some vendors start to leave if they have cleaned out of merchandise. LOTS of work for the vendors to be prepared for this show (another in the Spring!).
Let us know if you go! and have a great time!
