I was just reading a blog about this girl's terrible memory of girl scout camp.....one of the girls had to potty in the middle of the night, and the outhouse was so old, the floor broke through and the little girl ended up shin-deep in poop. I would not have gotten a badge on that trip, unless there was one for "most grossed out".....or "I puked 17 times and there was STILL stuff coming up!" We are going next weekend with 7 other families! Going to Lockhart State Park and have never been before. Moving from Tennessee I am still amazed at how far in advance you have to book a site here! So wild! TPWD: Lockhart State Park

The Lockhart area in general is beautiful! I bet it's fun to camp up there. With an RV, of course. J/K I'm interested in camping, just not the bugs or the cold or the lack of bathroom facilities. I envy people that can just jump in the truck and cut a trail.

What do you do all day, though? I guess hiking? Fishing? I'm just not sure what goes on out there.

We had a mini camp out last night! Actually we just sat outside and had a blazing fire but it was almost like camping . Did marsh mellows and everything.

Thanks everybody! I am excited about going to Lockhart as I have heard its beautiful. We are excited too because of the FOOD that will be close by! As for what we do all day, hang out with friends, watch the kiddos play, fish, play games, bust a move...you know whatever makes you happy ! I can't wait to sit around a campfire! We went this summer but it was way to HOT to make a fire. The people at the campsite next to us invited us over for smores which was fun! ! And Sapphire we usually tent camp but at campsites with bathrooms ! I love nature and all but..... tee hee hee.
