I'm trying to find a good company in San Antonio to apply a layer of top dressing to my St. Augustine lawn. The home builder did not put much top soil, and some areas have dips that I would like to fill in.

Also, is there a product, or mixture of products that I could get to get the same effect for less money? My yard is pretty small and i don't mind doing the work.

ABC Pest Control and Lawn Service for Houston, Dallas and Austin and surrounding areas offers the service to apply compost onto lawns. I would guess they can apply top dressing, too.

Since you're willing to DIY the job, you can definitely save $$$ with the great bagged and bulk products for top dressing at either http://garden-ville.com/ or http://www.fertilegarden.com/. If you have a truck or trailer to haul the materials in bulk, that's how you'll save the most.

If you tell them what you want to do, they'll have good suggestions of which products to use. They have several different types of soil to choose from, as well as compost and lawn dressing.
