A few friends and I are going to go try this place out for lunch today. How is the order taken? Do you order at a counter then find a seat, like Sea Island, or do they hand you menus at the table?

There are two Purple Garlic locations. I've been to the one at 281 and Thousand Oaks. At that location, you order at the counter and find a seat. IIRC, you don't pay when you order, so it's not exactly like Sea Island.

That is the location we are going to go to. So then you have a waiter that brings you the food and then pay him/her? We are using a 20% off coupon from the entertainment book, so we are trying to figure out if we each can use our own, or we need to bring cash to pay 1 bill.

Yes they bring the food to the table, but you pay at the register and I'm fairly sure that you pay after the meal. Also, they don't accept tips. I'm not sure what the best strategy would be for the coupon.

It's a good restaurant. I've ordered something different every time I've eaten there and it's always been tasty.

OMG This was one of the worst Pizza places I have been to. I read some good reviews on the place, and living close to Thousand Oaks we ventured out to try it.

It tasted just like an Elios pizza but round instead of square. We ordered a large and left half the pie uneaten.

Most people eating in there were order spaghetti.

I love their pizza and have been eating there for years and when they had their location on Nacogdoches. We usually have the Foran's favorite or the Mediterraneo (white pizza with shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes). Yum, I am hungry just typing this!

So which is it? "Left the pie half uneaten" bad or......"Yum, I am hungry just typing this" good?

We just got back from lunch. I will be going back, that's for sure. I ordered the Don sandwich, turkey , pamcetta, spinach and gouda cheese with a roasted pepper spread along with an artichoke heart w/mushrooms salad. My friends each ordered a calzone, one spinach and ricotta and the other, sausage and ricotta. Both of those were very good as well. At first it seemed that the lady that was working there was kinda rude, but she actually was very, very nice.
