I've heard complaints even about the Mexican food here! But it just depends on where you're from. Even North Dallas Tex-Mex is nothing like South Texas Mexican food.

And omg...don't get started on Chinese food either!

Once you've had what you know you like, there really isn't going to be a duplicate. Not unless you're into chains and we don't want to start that whole thing again! My advice is enjoy the company and try to adapt and appreciate the flavor of a new experience. But...then you didn't ask for my advice....so nevermind!
I've heard east Texas barbecue is different from say west Texas barbecue. Not surprising considering the size of Texas.lol

Off of WW White and IH 10 .. when you exit IH 10 drive a couple miles down WW White going out towards Loop 1604 and it will be on the left side. White Building.. nothing fancy .. but they do have some good food. even sell kool-aid!

It is! It seems that the further East you go, on into the deep South, the BBQ sauce gets sweeter. Deep Texas BBQ has a more tangy spicy flavor. I love both....as long as the meat is good. But both are completely different dishes.

I have a copy of a German cookbook from 1906 that the women's group in Frederickburg, TX put together. The recipes look incredible.....but some not so much! I might have posted a couple of recipes on here a long time ago. We could just start a new restaurant. I've got the cookbook. You all decide on the location.....and who's cooking!
