Are there any revolving doors in San Antonio? (Eldorado: hotels, restaurants)

Like literal revolving doors? In buildings?

Just never seen any.

hmmm... can't say for sure but i THINK some of the hotels have revolving doors? i vaguely recall going through some last luminaria so perhaps the hilton on south alamo? that would be my guess anyway: hotels.

(bing street view is a little hard to tell, but i think it's a revolving door by the valet.)

I know I've been through revolving doors in buildings in San Antonio, but it's been a few years, and I can't reacall exactly where. I doubt that revolving doors would be considered "ADA Compliant", so I suspect you would be seeing less of them nationally.

As for convertibles, remember they had been phased out completely for several years, when the GM, with the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado being the last remaing car available as a convertible body style in the U.S., dropped that body style. It wasn't until the 1980s, that convertibles began sneaking back into the picture, mostly as limited-availablity models, that in some cases were not "factory" convertibles, but aftermarket jobs that were modified by independent shops that had contracts with some of the automakers (the roofs were cut off, stiffeners were installed, etc.).

Still, I doubt that convertibles regained the popularity they once enjoyed nationally, and still today, the number of cars available as a convertible isn't what it was in the 50s - early 70s. With our hot summers, I think air-conditioning has become king in San Antonio since that era, but I can't say how the popularity of those cars here (or lack thereof) would compare nationally.

USAA has revolving doors into their bank building on I-10.

The exit at the zoo is a revolving metal grille. It's large enough to take a stroller through.

Both places will let you go through a different way if you're in a wheelchair.

About convertible cars, some parts of town seem to have more than others. You have to be able to park in your garage if you have one, otherwise it's too easy for someone to cut through the top and steal your stuff.
