I found it interesting on a recent road trip to CA to discover that not even all states practice DST. AZ has the same time all year round.
I spent 22 years in AZ, so the state not changing time is what I grew up with, and I kind of miss it. Changing time for DST is kind of strange to me, and everyone else thinks I'm kind of strange for feeling that way. It's all about what you're accustomed to.

I agree, down here extending the summer day doesn't make much sense! I don't see how the longer day saves us any electricity...if anything, it causes people to run their a/c longer...

It's been over 25 years since I lived in AZ and I'm STILL not used to the time change thingy!! However, it was REALLY nice to have light out when I took my little kids to the bus stop this am!

I actually LOVE that it gets lighter earlier. I really hate waking up at 7:00 a.m. and it still being pitch dark. I'll happily let it get dark earlier so long as it gets lighter earlier in the a.m. I'm not a morning person AT ALL, so every little bit helps.

I grew up in central Illinois, where, in the dead of winter, it didn't matter a damned bit - it was dark when you got up and dark when you got off work. Yuck.
