Are there any balanced calendar/year around schools, public or private, in San Antonio? We are looking to relocate to the San Antonio area and our son, 2nd grade, currently is on the balanced calendar.

not that I am aware of --- unless there is a Charter school around here that recognizes year round school --- I know some of the Charter's have extended school hours, until 5pm but I have not heard of any schools, public or private going thru out the year...

Castle Hills in North East Independent School District (NEISD) is the only one I'm aware of.

Castle Hills Elementary School

It's on the west side of town, near 410 and Jackson Keller from what I can gather from the NEISD campus maps.

Not to start a debate here, but this IS NOT the west side. Castle Hills is located north central, very close to the SA Airport.

I understand you are looking for a certain type of school (year round school) because that is what you have now, but it may not be your best choice here in this area. Check out the re-lo thread and greatschools.net and you will find the best schools in this area.
