No, the Pei Wei's over at Bandera and 1604; not that far from Culebra and 1604 (less than 5 miles). The previous poster to my comment inferred that the China House was the only Chinese restaurant in the area; which just ain't so...

Well, that kinda sucks for me, because I just moved here from Houston. I do love San Antonio though, so much! I just know I'll find a place close by that I can call my very own

Just a general statement.

When you all experience illness from an eating establishment do you contact COSA Metro Health?. I can assure you they will respond to your complaint. Food Safety is a High Priority with them.

Mencius is our favorite. I asked about H of C as it was convenient on the way home from a part time job in the evenings.

We used to like Wynne's on Babcock but the owners retired and the new joint is the usual cornstarch glop and a ton of onions as filler veggies.

Well, we ate at House of China for lunch while out shopping today. The food was something you'd expect in a small town that totally "Americanizes" it. Just blah. HOWEVER - the salt overload (errrr "poisoning"?) will hit you soon afterward! Oh. My. GOSH! Otherhalf and I felt like we needed some sort of salt detox after that!!! Needless to say, we won't be back!

Ate there once, never again, too Americanized. The owners are Chinese, I wonder why they can't make their food authentic. bllahhhhhhh. The only decent Chinese restaurant I ate was at KimWah BBQ at Bandera and Huebner. Not as close to the Chinese food up at Houston but its alot better than all the Chinese Restaurants in town.
