Waldenbook to close all SA locations
Borders group which owns Waldenbooks, is closing over 200 stores mostly mall based. All three in San Antonio are on the chopping block, Ingram Park, Rolling Oaks, and wait for it... South Park. I have a feeling all those hispanic groups (lulac ect...) are going to freak about the last one.
Full list is here... http://media.bordersstores.com/conte...losinglist.pdf

So this means SA will be back to having no bookstores south of downtown again?

Waldenbooks sucked anyways.
I think a B&N would do really well in the SE Military area

I've noticed all 5 of B&N's locations are in the Northwest and North Central sides of town (410/Ingram, 410/San Pedro, 1604/Bandera, 1604/La Cantera, and 1604/281). It's a great time for B&N to finally expand outside these areas!

Which bookstore is that one? Not too familiar with the area.

There's a Borders store in the Forum shopping center at I-35 and Loop 1604.

I think it's called Wind Books? It is mostly a used book store.
