Is parking still a mess at the Marbach location?

I grant you that some of the local ranges are frightening given the wide variation of shooters. At Dietz, I saw a middle aged son have to wrassle a rifle away from his ancient dad who won't stop shooting at time outs. Dad insisted he knew how to shoot. Oy!

Lately, I've just shot matches as they are tightly controlled but what about practice? Such problems. Once when there was that indoor range on Heath, I was yelled at for firing too fast.

However, they folded as the management were graduates of Clown and Commando Community College.

Concur with TRN's assessment of the Bullethole, I've witnessed far too many safety violations there to risk my life going back. It's not as bad on weekdays, but in the evenings or on the weekends I am not going to risk being accidentally shot when there are better ranges out there!

In case you don't have plans for this coming weekend, there will be the thrice-yearly SAXET gun show at the Alzafar Shrine Temple (901 N Loop 1604 W, between Blanco and Stone Oak Parkway on the north side of 1604) 24-25 July. There is no fee for parking, and plenty of it; and entry to the show is usually only $5.

Show hours are Saturday 9am - 6pm, and Sunday 9am - 5pm.

Hope to see ya there!

Cheers! M2

I'll be there about the time the doors open on Saturday. A few folks from work are meeting up, so we'll be the small mob of military/ex-military types...

But I just bought another Webley pistol on Sunday, so again I am "gun poor!"

Cheers! M2

Yeah....well, my 7241 Fort Knox is now *officially* over-full. There's literally not enough room for the 1919, OR the 4 AR's I picked up the other day on a whim. Gonna take 2 of 'em with me and sell, I guess. The new safe's gonna run me a tad over $6k, so I've got some serious saving to do!

This weekend's another SAXET show at the SA Event Center, 410 and Marbach (Meadow Leaf Dr), this weekend (2-3 Oct). Door's open at 9:00am, entry is $5 per person and parking is still a mess (as well as $3) so get there early.

There's two places to eat within walking distance, IHOP and Apetito's Mexican restaurant; so it's easy to have some breakfast and then walk over to the show...

Cheers! M2
