Thinking of Re-Locating
Hi am a currently living in Canada in the Toronto area and was wondering how San Antonio compares and differs in life style.

We definitely don't have the cold and snow down here like you folks do up north. However we try to offset that with what can be brutally hot and humid summers and late springs. We also don't get regular rainfall but when we do we get rain or if we are extremely lucky we get rain with floods! Toronta is definitely more cosmopolitan than SA...although SA is fairly large area wise we haven't evolved to the level of sophistication found in more civilized urban areas such as Houston, Dallas, or Austin. We like our pickup trucks and country music. If you like mexican food you'll be in heaven...if you like burgers we have Whataburger, if you are into Texas BBQ we have Bill Miller, O'Grady's and Rudy's all of which are staples of we SA area sophisticants. If you look real hard you'll find a few "old south" BBQ places and soul food eateries which are fantastic. If you like history...we have the Alamo and numerous old spanish missions in the area. SA is working hard to update its image and the riverwalk is the main tourist attraction in town.
If you like pro basketball we have the "Spurs" and the WNBA Silver Stars. If you're a hockey fan we have a minor league team the SA"Rampage". We don't have a pro footbal team...not enough local horsepower and money to get one here anytime soon. If you like to shop for cars we have plenty of car dealers.
Any specific questions?

Cerberus01, you really need to step out of your hood and explore SA. The crap you posted is misleading and untrue.
BTW- Toronto yearly rainfall is 27.1 inches. Toronto Statistics | Toronto Economy San Antonio yearly rainfall is 31 inches. Pilot Information

Well, San Antonio doesn't have quite the same "urban" vibe as somewhere like Toronto does. That said, it's a great place to live with lots to see and do.
Coming from Saskatchewan, originally, you won't hear me complain about the heat (with the noted exception of this past summer, which was unseasonably hot!)
Take your time browsing this forum - it's a wealth of information. Feel free to ask more specific questions once you get a better idea about the city.

So far, the driest year on record in San Antonio was 1917 where only 10.11" of rain fell. However, our wettest year to date was in 1973 with 52.28". Meanwhile in Toronto, the precipitation extremes are far less pronounced. 2007 was the driest year to date with 16.27", while 41.34" fell in 2008 (the wettest year on record).

What?
I really don't even know what you're trying to say well enough to try and give a retort but if you're honestly saying what I think you're saying, then no, you're wrong. Real wrong.
