Default SA - Zip 78259 close to Cibolo

Can anyone give some information on SA zip code 78259? We are looking to buy a new house in this area ( KB Homes - Fox Grove Neighborhood), but the personal crime risk is 181%, so we are a little concerned as to whether it is a safe area. The property crime area is much lower - about 40%, but the personal crime seems high.
I know sometimes the crime statistics are affected if there are many malls or stores around a certain area, although the area is safe. Please let me know anything you know about this area.

Thanks
Gabriela

Here's a good link for help on this zip code.

http://www.city-data.com/zips/78259.html

That area is very nice. I don't know why personal crime would be high but like you said it could have to do with retail/stores and that area does have a lot and much more being built like Legacy or The Village at Stone Oak, etc.

But believe me, it's very nice out there. Nothing to fear or worry about.

Gab, one of the many new retail developments being built out in that area is Legacy.

It is being built near the 1604 and 281 interchange.

Another good way to check the area and zip codes is with the San Antonio Street Guide. I ordered one and it has all of the zip codes with the streets shown on each page. For example: The page that has zip code 78259 will show all of the streets in that area. I love it. I study it and almost feel as if I am there. I contacted the assessor's office and he gave me the site where I can look up arial views. You can actually see the trees.

Smile Thank you

210,

Thank you very much for the zip codes map and the Legacy pictures!!!! It is very very helpful. If you have any more maps that you think that may help any newcomer to San Antonio, please post them. They mean a lot when one is not familiar with the area.
By the way, is the Legacy built already or is it a future project (is that a real picture of how the area looks like right now)?

I will be in SA in two weeks and it is very exciting.

Thanks again,
Gabriela

Legacy is currently under construction.

Already open though is an extremely large Lifetime Fitness, Sportsman's Warehouse, and a Best Buy.

Here's an areial of the Legacy construction.
http://www.sahelicopter.com/images/03_25.jpg (broken link)

It will include housing, office, retail, and three hotels.

The freeway at the bottom of the picture is 281 and the freeway at the top right corner is 1604.
