Default Spurs Games Parking

This is my first year here in SA and am loving going to the Spurs games and I'm just curious about the whole parking situation. Are there any nearby places (stores, businesses etc.) to park for free and walk to the ATT center?

Go Spurs Go!

Do you still want your car to be there after the game?

Yes, I'm sure I'll get blasted for that, but there's nowhere down there I'd leave my vehicle....and I'm sporting a Nissan. The AT&T center parking lot gets my $15, I get my car back in one piece.

Not for free, AFAIK. There are slightly cheaper private lots nearby. I used one once.

The parking is a primary way that the county pays expenses for its part of the center from its customers. AFAIK, there isn't any revenue source inside the building that goes 100% to the county like the parking does.

From the little that I know...
the AT&T Center is in an area of high crime.
So I wouldn't park anywhere around there that is "free" (free car for them?)

They have a secure lot that's a little bit more of a walk but it's only $8.00.

Parking there isn't half bad, but not the best. It is pricey at times. I know you can get tickets and"parking passes" where you can park closer or for a little more money.

There is also the option of doing Park and Ride. It's $5 total and if you're close to a Park and Ride spot (Crossroads and Randolph off the top of my head) and there are only a few of you going it's not a bad deal. Just make sure it's not a blow a planned blow out because the Park and Ride buses don't leave until the bus is full and do not arrive until midway through the third quarter. However, if it's a big group (obviously 3 or more) than parking may be a better option since the $5 will add up.

The only free place I know to park is Dailey Wells/Tyco down the road on Houston st. Of course, its about a half a mile to walk. I typically recommend Phillips on Houston St. Its usually about $10, gated and fenced off. They are right across the street from the Center. The bonus is at the end of the game, you have your own driving lane that takes you right out of the area without having to wait on everyone else in the parking lot to get out.

I agree with ashbeeigh: If I'm going with a small group of people, I do the Park and Ride. The buses leave from 2 Park and Ride locations: Randolph (near I-35 and Loop 410 West) and Crossroads (across from the Super Target at Crossroads Mall). Before the game, the last bus leaves the AT&T Center about a half-hour before tip-off, and after the game, the buses run until a half-hour after the game ends.
If I'm with a bigger group of people, I try to get to the AT&T Center area early - there is parking available across AT&T Center Pkwy (next to the golf course) and down E Houston St (across the street from the golf course). As far as I know, these lots cost less than the AT&T Center lots and are closer to the arena.
