I'm doing the 1/2 this year. I'm especially excited that they are giving us a FREE BEER for finishing.
I have a feeling that the thought of that beer will help me through "the wall"!

I am running/walking (more walk than run lol). This is my first ever marathon and I was sort of tricked into doing it I have had only 3 wks to prepare for this and only have been running for 2 months. Let's just say my goal is just not to be picked up by the sag wagon, or what ever it's called. I call it the sad wagon. I don't like beer, but I will be drinking mine at the end.

Just wanted to say good luck and have a great run/walk tomorrow. If you see a lady in a baby blue shirt crawling across the finish line (literally), that's me.

Well, the Rock and Roll Marathon was today and congratulations to everyone running, walking or just supporting. It was a great event.
However, some people really need to check the attitude that they have out in public. When there is a large event do not try walking upstream (against traffic) because you think it will be quicker. Stay to the right when walking in a confined area, such as stairways or narrow corridors. Walking on the left only causes more congestion and it is your own fault when you get bumped and jostled about. Saying nasty thing to people who are walking correctly shows ignorance and disrespect. While this shows shameful manners the only truly reprehensible thing that happened at this event is spectators interfering with runners. This occurred when the spectators where standing on the sidelines and started creeping into the street (this caused the runner to have to narrow down into a smaller area), crossing the street directly in front of a participant (you actually risk injury to yourself and the runner when doing this) or standing in the street in order to get a head-on picture of the person they were supposedly there to support (this is just ridiculous); these action caused runners to have to navigate around spectators and slowed their timing. Every person who did one of these actions should be disgusted with themselves. Please, everyone who reads this, remember that when you are at this type of event everyone deserves respect and maybe if you show some etiquette then others will also.
