LOL it's been a while since I've been to VA Beach, but I don't recall it being as nasty as you say. My point is, there aren't any beaches like that around here for sure. And the gulf, to me, is nasty. I love my California beaches anyway, so nothing here would satisfy me......I probably should not have offered my opinion since it's not a good one.

Good luck in your move.

I always wonder about people who are perfectly capable to find out the right forum, for the right city; they know how to use computer and then ask question like " I've been to San Antonio before (...) to relocate to a suburb on the beach. So how far away is the beach?"
What about - find the map and look at it, then ask questions?? lol

Well let me help you out. I asked a question ...as such "how far is the beach" and people respond....the beach is 2 hours away....that beach is nasty go to this 1....there is no beach...etc. Most people understand a conversation starter on a public forum.

(I've already said where I'm from about 1000 times)

However there's a nicer private beach called Chicks Beach that's beautiful.

IMO you just described Corpus!

That's beautiful. And South Padre is pretty, but it still lacks the mountains.

I would still spend all my time in SPI if it wasn't 5 hours away.

As a true ocean lover..I can deal with seaweed, jellyfish and murky water - it's the ocean. What I cannot stand to see is all the trash that washes up from the gulf...but it is still better than no beach!

You got beaches up and down the Corpus Christi area. You got Galveston Beach.

I think it's about 2-3 hours from where you are at (San Antonio). Something like that.

I spent many summers, when I was little girl (waaaay back in 1979-1985), in Galveston Beach and Crystal Beach. Loved it there. I even thought about moving around there, about 4-5 years ago, but I've decided on Florida instead in another year or so.

It takes about two hours to get to Corpus Christi and about another hour to get to the beach. We go to Port Aransas every year and we love it. It would be nice if other beach visitors would not leave any trash behind. Sometimes there is too much seaweed in the shallow water and right before you get to the water. When we went this summer there was almost no seaweed.
