Downtown San Antonio has its own unique appeal to it and its own skyline. I would not recommend changing it.

A city with a decent skyline shows economic power.

Washington D.C?

Phoenix?

Orlando?

San Diego?

For San Antonio one of the greatest obstacles for a tall skyline is affordable land.

So........ who's going to build those skycrappers?
Or maybe we should work on the "economic power" part first and then let them build their skycrappers.

It's like saying that you want to buy a ferrari because you want people to think that you are rich... but you work in Whataburger.

I've visited SA twice and loved the downtown part just because there are NOT any tall buildings! San Antonians, don't let your DT become "Manhatanized".

I want to go a bit further. Let's find out where the funeral pire was built, and all of the heroes burned, and place an eternal flame on that location!

Having a bustling downtown is important for the health of a city... it acts metaphorically like the heart of the human body.
While I agree with LiveUrban, the SOM building in Saudi Arabia has a nice feel to it that isn't too modern and would actually complement San Antonio's library building very well. SA's library is one of my favorite buildings in SA.

So how about an option that asks how many times the same issue is going to be discussed to death when no one on here has the ability to do anything about it?

Seriously, complaining about the skyline is tantamount to complaining about the heat in southcentral Texas. Time to realize this is just how things are...
