Where are the turkey deals??
I thought this would be a good time to start a thread about making our Thanksgiving meals more affordable! Is there anywhere besides HEB and Walmart to buy our food?

Not such a great deal when you figure mileage.
Sam's turkeys were higher than Super Target's were today. I got a 19 lb'er for .68 a lb. I'm satisfied with that. I'm going to have to start thawing that bad boy out TODAY. He's huge.

Ha! Here HEB has a virtual monopoly! Doesn't allow any other large regular grocery stores! So we only have SuperWalmarts and SuperTargets and those places where you have to pay for membership. Oh, forgot, health food stores like Sun Harvest Farms, Whole Foods and that new one I can't remember the name for.

18 - 20 Lbs. (raw weight) USDA Grade A Young Turkey Tom with 1 gallon Cornbread Dressing and 1/2 gallon Giblet Gravy... $59.99

I didn't feel like running around so I just grabbed a Butterball today at Walmart for $0.88. Got a 16.30 pounder. Guess I need to start thawing mine too. I usually get a fresh one but what the heck, it's not as if mine are all that great anyway!

We ordered a 14 lb Deep Fried Turkey with Cornbread Dressing and Gravy from Acadiana Cafe. $64. Well worth it! I don't feel like messing with a turkey this year. Maybe next!
