Yaay!! San Antonio, here we come!!
Well, for a Christmas vacation that is.... I'm looking forward to getting out of the cold for a bit, that's for sure. We are going to check out some new construction homes in Boerne and in Helotes. I think we have everything pretty much planned, but are there any points of interest that we MUST go to? We are going to Sea World, the Zoo, Riverwalk, Alamo, etc.... What shopping malls should we check out? I know that there are several restaurants out in town, but are there specific ones that you would recommend? We like it all, seafood, steak, etc... Thanks!

Thanks! I should have also mentioned that we will have our two boys ages 6 and 11 with us. I would say no more than $60 for dinner and it doesn't have to be completely kid friendly. They like eating out and are surprisingly well behaved!

You're coming to visit at a lovely time. As a native of central Illinois, I can assure you there is nothing like a San Antonio Christmas! Balmy weather, George Strait singing Christmas carols with that Texas swing, Riverwalk all lit up... It's gorgeous. I like Christmas SO MUCH more down here than I did at home!
I saw you were looking at the Christmas in SA thread - you'll get some wonderful ideas there.

omg...linda is sooo correct --- you must hit the Riverwalk while you are here --- it is soooo pretty all lit up and they lines may be LOOONGG but if you can stand the wait for a river barge ride, it really is worth it...
i am a native san antonian and i still love going downtown every Christmas...

don't know --- i'll ask my husband...he is stationed on that part of riverwalk 1x a week and i'll see if they are lighting it as well...
