I've heard that Taft is a bit rough. My hairdresser is a SA native and she's moving near that area and is trying to get her hs aged kids into the hs that is a bit further northeast but I forget the name of it. I suspect though with Alamo Ranch going in that there will be a bit of change going on there too.

Stevenson just had an incident with some 8th grade girls--I think one wrote a note about some girls she planned on hurting and someone turned her in. I'll look for a link. BRB

Well, I am sure that the good outweighs the bad--the only reason I pay any attention to this area is because I have an elementary-schooler, and with the way things get re-zoned every few years he could end up at Stevenson. I'd be willing to bet that there is a whole lot more positive things happening at that middle school than the incident that came out last week. It's sad that a whole school gets labeled over one student! I notice that Reagan HS (in Stone Oak area) hasn't really suffered much backlash after a student was stabbed there. Unfortunately, money and a nice area are no guarantee of safety nowadays.
