I was going to buy a new Dell Windows 7 last week with my Christmas bonus when the Vista crashed out. I may well just let the vista sit until I see how I like windows 7, but I did contact Friendly PC because no matter what I do the files won't expand when I do fresh install.

old thread, if you have not fixed it try this:

Dell had GHOST on most computers with hard drive back up. Save all your files and documents,

When you hit the power button hold down the Ctrl button and at the same time fast tap F11. It may take a couple of tries, the will reinstall it to its original factory settings.

You can google Dell Ctrl F11 and get specific instructions for your machine.

''''To use PC Restore:

1 Turn on the computer.
During the boot process, a blue bar with Dell Official Site - The Power To Do More | Dell appears at the top of the screen.

2 Immediately upon seeing the blue bar, press <Ctrl><F11>.

If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish restarting, and then restart the computer again
