I live in the Alamo Ranch area and all I see lately is grafitti all over the place. It is on the bank atm machine, the new shopping center, new restaurants etc... I have lived in almost every major city in Texas and have never before come across so much. Why is this not more of an important issue for this city?

I've lived briefly in Mesquite and Houston, and the tagging/graffiti is just as/if not more prevalent there as here. That said, it's an eyesore no matter where it is, and it doesn't carry near as much priority here as most of us would like it to.

Some people view it as innocent kids expressing themselves, but that's a crock. It's vandalism and brings our property values down. One of them will be shot dead soon, if one is caught by the wrong (or depending on your POV, right) homeowner.

Alamo Ranch is not very far from a lot of very poor neighborhoods with thuggery who can find nothing better to do. Just try to think like the Moderator cut: 4 words, substitute "people" who call illegal aliens undocumented persons. It's not illegal grafitti; it's unattributed decoration.

stand by. I'm digging up facts. I'm a little quicker with the weather facts (see my contribution to the CPS thread), so this might take a few minutes...

Not dissing the trailer park, we discussed that last month remember?

I am very familiar with that entire area because my grandfather developed it back in the 80s so I have seen the community change. There are some pockets out there off Ellison Dr, Marbach and along Potranco.

I don't have any data but I'm sure we can dig it up. Point is it you have a mixture of new growth (ARanch) with older homes and may also have quite a few of rentals out there so your neighbors will always vary.

I am not dissing the trailer park. I only questioned him because he said A LOT of VERY POOR neighborhoods. I'm curious as to which neighborhoods he is referring to, that's all. I have an interest in this as I live in the NW area as well.

Maybe part of the Great Northwest off of Culebra and Les Harrison Drive?
