Default Project Around Regal Hills...La Joya

Design International's web site has renderings of a mixed-use project called La Joya on the property behind Regal Hills. This looks like an awesome project. Chect out the birds eye view and there appears to be some nice midrise and maybe highrise buildings. You will notice that the land for Regal Hills is the blank space in the corner which was sold to Turnberry. Go to web site and click on masterplanning then mixed-use. www.di-global.com/projects/detail.aspx

Description:

Quote:
La Joya

The 100-acre La Joya mixed-use project is currently under development in the burgeoning northwestern suburbs of Greater San Antonio. The commercial, office & residential community is planned as an intimate, human-scale neighbourhood with high-end and specialty retail and entertainment facilities. Outdoor dining, green spaces and wide sidewalks characterize the project’s urban design, while on-site public amenities include a theatre, school and programmable public square that will also animate the development. Residential components include urban lofts, luxury condos and elegant townhomes designed as rowhouses.

This area is shaping up to be something very special. With La Cantera, The Rim, Regal Hills, La Joya, The Dominion, Six Flags and UTSA growing and striving for a higher status, the sky is the limit for this area.

What happened to Turnburry(sp?) on the deal? They were the developers on it.

Galleria Ventures sold the 100 acres on the corner of I-10 and 1604 to Turnberry which will be Regal Hills shopping center. Galleria will develope the 100 hectare (approximately 300 acres) La Joya, which will be residential, office and commercial.

Bigger and better than that.

The Shops at La Cantera themselves have better stores and will have some housing and office space in phase II.

But you also have to consider that both The Village at the Rim at The Rim will be an new urbanism type development with upscale stores and housing. And now La Joya with planned highend stores as well.
