Most of those pics were taken in 2006, probably in early part of day. Maybe during week day.

No matter when they were taken, when in the world are they going to start the major renovation they keep touting to 'modernize' the mall and attract new, more upscale shops? RC's looking a little (well, a LOT) dated.

When? They started a long time ago. I'm not sure if you noticed but Fago de Chao is now open at the mall.

Vacant means no tenants, not not people in random pictures. RCM has tenants.

Vacant of people eventually leads to vacancy of tenants. No people in random pictures leads to vacancy of tenants....

What? No it doesn't. You can't take some pictures and read them at face value. Ohmigod that's the dumbest thing ever. To assume something from a small (tiny)sample of random pictures is terrible.

if I recall correctly, River Center Mall parking used to be free, or at least very cheap. Once the new owner bought the place (the guy was from New York?) and hiked up the parking rates to ridiculous rates (we had to pay $15 and haven't parked there since) then the shoppers plummeted. I now park on the street north of the Alamo if I go down there. I spoke with several tenants at the mall and got their opinion and they all told me the same thing: when the parking rates were hiked up, their business fell. I think it's absolutely ridiculous to charge for parking at a place like River Center Mall. I've lived in this city for three years and one of the reasons I don't go down there as often is because of the parking prices. Anyone concur??
