Saw this on the news yesterday. Very tragic and so sad, especially so close to Christmas. I go here every now and then and the people who work the parking lot are always so friendly and helpful. I feel terrible for this man's family but I hope that the sorry excuse for a human being who killed him gets punished to the fullest extent of the law. Shameful and disgusting.

What a shock! A drunk driver on the loose at 6AM in San Antonio!! Cheese us Katy Key Riced.

I feel so bad for this poor man that was killed--I didn't read this article yet, but I "heard" the poor guy was dragged for quite a ways before the drunk idiot realized he'd hit the man. Absolutely sickening.

I THINK I read somewhere that the guy who killed him, is also a vendor! So drunk vendors at the flea market - grrreat. I realize the flea market is exactly Nordstroms, but people shouldnt be wasted while dealing with the public, particularly at places where families frequent as is the case with Mission.

Infuritating.

I can't believe there would be a drunk driver in San Antonio at 6 Am. Aren't they all supposed to go home after the bar and be home by 3 AM?
This situation is not funny at all. Drunks on the road are ruining anytime and everyplace. I understand the driver is being charged with intoxication manslaughter. Should be murder...make it capital one. Then see how many drunks there are on the road. In 10 years, they would all have been executed and the repeat offenders would be a thing of the past!!!!!!!

If someone is drinking heavily till 3 AM, he will be still very drunk at 6 AM. And who said that he drank in the bar??? Maybe he was drinking at home till... 6 AM??
I agree to the capital murder! But sadly would be only a pat on the wrist

I know this is a tragic event, and my prayers are with the families involved, but reports just say "suspicion of drunken driving". The media has a way of tweaking words. Not saying that this is in anyway right, and i'm not making an exuse for anyone, but shouldn't we wait to see what the blood levels indicate before we cast stones???

Maybe he had one drink the night before and didn't brush his teeth?

It's tragic yes, but we gotta get all the facts first.

I do so much driving around Texas, and I see people who appear to be intoxicated at all hours of the day (and night). Drunk driving is one of the most selfish acts a person can commit. I agree with y'all. I get on here for fun and joke around quite a bit, but this is something I take quite seriously. I don't feel toooo bad for the man, since he has passed already, but I feel awful for his family. All of the families every time I see a story about someone getting behind the wheel of an automobile intoxicated and taking a life. Makes me sick.

The article says "charges are pending" and the charges are "intoxication manslaughter". That's enough for me.

true....but i could take a single sip of beer right now, drive home, commit a similar crime and be charged with "intoxication manslaughter" because I had alcohol in my system.

dunno, i just look at things from all perspectives.

not trying to say i'm right, it's just the way i look at things.

If a single sip of beer makes you intoxicated, I suppose that's true.

From the mysa.com article:

Officers said they smelled alcohol on the driver's breath and found a bottle of MD 20/20 and three other liquor bottles in the truck.

You will probably argue that "that doesn't mean he was drunk" and that's true, but I'm sure there was a blood draw or breathalyzer given. I can't seem to find an update on the story.

Good to know the ******* drinks only the finest.
