I heard something about home auctions in Bexar County at the courthouse on Tuesday. Can someone tell me what exactly this is and how the process works?
I would love any information you can share.

Better be ready to pay for the place the same day as the auction is. There are some deals, but the bank holding the note is normally the high bidder. Your biggest concern here is the title - there may be more liens to be satisfied than you might think.

First Tuesday of every month. I think you need to be able to pay within three days, so it's cash or nothing. SS is right...bank usually takes the title over and then lists it as a traditional foreclosure.

Here's a link to the properties available. Always interesting to peruse.

Bump... I've become interested in this, but there's shockingly little information on the Bexar county website about how the process works. Kinda surprising given how much other info there is.

Any experiences or information on how this works would be extremely appreciated.

I would highly suggest you find someone familiar with the process and pay them to teach you about it. You're getting into something that can be profitable....or cost you everything. It is NOT something for the "beginner" to jump into and hope to learn as they go, because the lessons can be quite expensive.

There's one particular home I'm interested in. Beyond that one home, I have no interest in other auctions, now or in the future, so paying someone for information on how the process works probably isn't in my best interest.

I found the site below which had some information, although it looks like it hasn't been updated in awhile.

Investor Source for Foreclosures & Tax Liens - in San Antonio, TX - Bexar County

EDIT TO ADD: Turns out I don't need this info, as this is a public auction through REDC, not a Bexar Co. auction. But if anyone can share their experience for future people who come across this, it'd still be great to hear.
