Aloha Corri...I would think that the Sunday Express News would be a good source of job listings...what kind of work are you looking for?
GOOD news is that there are LOTS of jobs in SA...our unemployment is very low and if you want to work, this is a great city to be looking in right now.
Hope this helps!

Aloha Bruddah Paka!
Mahalo nui loa for responding. I'm a bookkeeper, and my husband is a truck driver. I doubt we'll have any trouble finding work as we both have lots of experience in our fields, I just hope it's with reputable companies that offer a competative salary. I have a really good feeling about the move though, I really do. I haven't been for a while, but I know I'll be at home. Thanks to the forum, I've learned so much more about the area. It has everything I need.

A good way to get your foot in the door is to go with a Temp Agency. Some employers go with temp-to-hire to make sure the person is the right fit. It also benefits you as you can decide if you want to work there. As for truck drivers, they are in big demand. If your husband doesn't like the long hauls, he might check with HEB as they normally make 1-day trips to outlying areas like Corpus Christi.

Thanks for the good advice Steel. HEB is on the list! It's so comforting to know that there are plenty of jobs to go around. Aloha!

Steel Man,
I think this is excellent advice.
I just looked at the San Antonio phone book, and the number of listed Temp Agencies is staggering.
Can you or anyone else on the forum recommend a Temp Agency with a better-than-average reputation?
Perhaps Temp Agencies tend to specialize in certain professions. If that's the case, then any additional information regarding specialization would also be appreciated.
Muchas gracias! (See.....the SA culture is rubbing off on me already!)

Denada Wordly.
You're right, there are lots of temp agencies in SA. Some of the ones we use are Kelly Services, First Option, and Staffing Solutions. Here is KSAT's yellow page listings that you can use and shows maps.

Good Luck!

Unless you're looking for a government/military job, it's hard to beat the searches at Indeed.com. They aggregate listings from dozens of different job posting sources.

About this moving and job deal
I was in town interviewing waaay earlier this year. I didn't get the job and I do IT stuff. So I am still looking. I really want to make this move because we really loved the city. So the temp deal is okay if it's temp-to-perm. But I really need some assistance getting to the hiring managers. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Indeed.com just had a few pages of Rackspace jobs listed. You may have to search back a week or two, but they were on there. If I were an IT person, that's the door I would be beating down right now. There is also a lot of info on the internet about how they conduct their interviews, as I guess they are a little different from the rest. I'm just repeating what I've seen on other forums, I have no first-hand knowledge, so take me with a grain of salt.
