Has anyone worked for Accenture. I'm especially interested in your opinion of the environment, especially the IT development department. Do you like it there, is it a good place to start a career? How is the pay, etc...
Thanks!

Yeah, I worked there. It was not a great experience. It wasn't even a good experience. I honestly got out as soon as I could (I worked there from May 2007 until August 2008, so I gave it the old college try). I worked for Accenture Learning here in San Antonio.

TnB, it's at Prue and Babcock, in the old Albertson's. They used to have a location on 410 - Alamo Downs-ish? - but I don't know if they're still there or if they've consolidated it into the Prue/Babcock location. I worked at the location at DeZavala and I10, but they moved that entire operation to the Prue/Babcock location.

ETA: The pay was abysmal.

A company I worked for hired Accenture to find untapped efficiencies in our work flow. I do not know how much that "experiment" cost, but it was a total failure.

You can always ask Tiger Woods, I think he worked for them until about a month ago.

Wow I am surprised at the responses. I have a co worker whose husband works there and from what she says he loves it.

I was just looking at their careers but now...

.... because Accenture, like most companies, employs lots of people doing lots of different things. Unless the other posters on the thread would be doing the same job in the same group, I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

I know people at Accenture who are both happy and (apparently) well paid, so your mileage will vary.

I agree with this poster. I know someone who works there and is very happy, but it is a very large company with several offices that serve many different functions so not everyone will have the same experience.

Yep. And all I can comment on is my very bad experience with Acc. Others love it and that's great for them. Me, I'm happy to be gone.
