My favorite tacos are at Caracheo's on Bitters or MacArthur Way or whatever they call it now. I have yet to find a place that beats their bean and cheese, carne guisada, and picadillo tacos and they haven't given me food poisoning.

I consider Augie's BBQ as a 'hole in the wall,' given their location and venue...

These aren't necessarily hole in the wall places but a lot of city folks may not be aware of them.
Red's Cove, Medina Lake- hamburgers and real fries. Eat on the porch, watch the boats.
Tadpoles, Park Rd 37 Medina Lake-most anything on the menu including the jalapeno pepper steak.
Hermann Sons Steak House- Hondo, Tx- known for their cheese pepper steak.
Old Spanish Trail, Bandera Tx- Mexican food is great but anything on the menu.
Red Barn, Mirando City Tx- the hamburger steak is to kill for.
Cora's 471 Grill, north of Castroville on 471- most anything on the menu

Stinson Field Cafe. It is inside the airport. No, not that airport, the other one.

Yes indeed this place is great. I remember there was another thread on here where we both mentioned this place.

I think I want some food from there now!
