Default Eisenhauer Flea Market- free rent for garage sales

The Eisenhauer Road Market (Northeast SA) has been offering free tables to promote their new Garage Sale Arena. The Arena is in the rear of the Market, accessable from inside or the parking lot. They have been doing it for several weeks, I don't know how long the promotion will continue, call for info at (210) 653-7592. You must reserve your table first.

For those nearby, it is a great way to have your sale without spending money on permits, classified ads or putting up/removing signs. It's not for everyone, if you are shy or timid, you may prefer to deal with the public on your "home turf", but for most it's a great way to put your items in front of hundreds of people, many more than most yard sales attract. Plus, your neighbors won't see the junk you've been keeping in your house!

If you do it, bring plenty of change, HEB bags and a sack lunch (but snack bars are availible)

Well I wish them luck but Eisenhauer has been going downhill in the past several years. We used to frequent them and got really great deals but then came the multiple "made in china booths" that seemed to take the garage sale or yard sale feel out of it.

People have always had garage/church sales there, I guess they are just trying to attract more. I miss the old days too, but it's a lot harder to "hunt for treasures" at any flea market these days, as many antique/collectible dealers have gone to the internet. On the other hand, it's the last refuge for the elderly dealers who refuse to use a computer!

I don't have much use for most of the new import places myself, but all the flea markets have them. I guess if people didn't buy, they wouldn't be there.

I remember the old Austin Highway Flea Market, it was outdoors and ramshackle, but I always had fun digging thru the junk!

The free promo is over, but they are now doing table rent in the arena for $5, which is a fraction of the regular price. Still a great deal!

They should make it like the city-wide garage sale in Austin (which I am hitting up this weekend )......NO NEW STUFF!! Vintage, used, and/or antiques only. I can't stand all the booths that have cheap crap, brand new.

The Eisenhauer Market is still open for business every Wed-Sun, and there are no announced plans for any closing. Many folks have asked me about this. And they still have turkey legs

Quite right...Most flea market goers like junk and other used stuff. Bargaining with the merchants is good too as long as you don't try to get too rediculous as I have seen some ppl try to do. Maybe I'll go and get rid of some of my junk. "If you haven't used it in a year of so then you don't need it."...Something I heard once upon a time.

The turkey legs are pretty good and domestic beer is only $2.00. I wonder what ever happened to the flea market at the soon to be razed Northwest Shopping center on Fredericksburg Rd. ?
