It's pretty crazy. I agree that laws should be modified.

I really tried to rep you but gotta spread it around apparently.

There are soooo many opportunities for people to volunteer and get involved in making positive, meaningful changes in one another's lives. Most of us just complain about whats going on around us, but rarely do any of us do anything about it. I PERSONALLY would be MORE than happy to share some of the opportunities that I am aware of with ANYONE on here in a DM.

I wasn't "taking them to task", that's your interpretation. I was also referring to long-standing formal custody arrangements where a parent can't just take the kid back whenever they want from a family member, not some odd, informal, voluntary, short-term custody arrangement the CPS uses when they just need to get the job done. In the context my comment was meant, it was correct.

And if it means I get to learn new things by doing it, I should "take people to task" more. The internet is a wild place, why not?

Actually the U.S. is one of the most charitable countries in the world, if not the most charitable. I think most people do more than just complain, it's just hard to accept that the world is the way it is.

That's cool and easy to do. Also doesn't Texas have those "Stop Child Abuse" license plates and the funds go towards child-abuse organizations? I know a lot of states do. That's another easy thing to do, and it's also good at raising awareness since everyone driving behind you sees it.

Yes! And many other license plates for different causes (parks, schools, etc). Mine is my doggie love!

I am not doubting the charity of the US. I simply made a comment based on my own opinion and what I see and hear very often.

True enough. I know some people that do more than complain also complain A LOT because they feel so strongly about their particular issue. More power to them, though.
