I don't think Rudy's is a must-do place. I prefer Augie's. Rudy's isn't bad, just not "to die for".....I do like their peppery bbq sauce, though.

I'd agree it's a must do. I'm sure there is better out there, but I really like it and they give a military discount. I always like places that do that
Why don't many people get the chopped? It's actually my favorite and the most affordable thing on the menu. I think even the corn is more expensive, but it sure is good, though.

Chopped xtra Onion and pickles

Because they chop all the fat up with a tiny bit of meat....there's so much sauce that you don't realize it. It's basically junk they should be throwing out, but they've found a way to turn it into a profit.

What is all this gibberish that you speak of on here??

If it's got meat on it, and some spicy rub, I'm eatin' it! MMmmm

That's not actually true with a good BBQ joint. A lot of times, if I'm in a place for the first time, I order the chopped. I think it's a good indication of things to come...

I'll have to add Smokey Moes on Bulverde Rd just south of Evans. Granted, they use electric smokers, but the brisket is really good.

When you see a 99 cent chopped sandwich, it's mostly fat. I don't even know how much they are at Rudy's, but he said they were cheap. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that they are loaded with fat.
