Hey everyone,

Im looking into these two places two live. Im out of state and cant check it out in person. (I know I know, its not wise to move without checking it out first, but I need to.) Can you all help! Are these two places safe? Im not to worried about looks right now. Im just going to find a cheap safe place for my arrival and then move somewhere better once I get there and stay for a bit. Safety is number 1.

1) 1310 Steves

2)319 E. Jones

Thanks guys !!

you might want to include a zip code and a neighborhood. I've never heard of either of those streets and this city is actually pretty freaking big.

I've linked maps of the two locations to the addresses in your post, and here is one showing both and the route between them.

Is there any particular reason you are focusing on that specific area of town? Are you working nearby or have limited transportation? I ask because there are many other places that would be safer than those two, and if safety is your #1 priority and you are able to live elsewhere, I would recommend expanding your search.

But, out of those you listed, I would say the more northern location would be the safer of the two. Still, I would consider other locations...

Cheers! M2

Not the best neighborhoods. You might want to put those two addresses into Google Street Views (they are both shown) and take a look, and also scroll up and down the street.

Good idea, here are the two addresses as viewed from the street!

1) 1310 Steves

2) 319 E. Jones

oooh, over there.. I drove down S. Presa once following my TomTom's directions to a DQ. The only way I would feel safe over there was if I had lived there a long time and had built up a strong reputation as someone you don't want to mess with.

I used to play soccer in a indoor place right next to that address and everything in that area looks abandoned.
When I played at night, that are looked completely deserted, not exactly the place where I would go walking around.

The only good thing is that there are several restaurants a few blocks from there.

I think this is a better picture of the E. Jones building in question, and this the one on Steves. Neither look safe to me, or at least there are plenty of other places/areas that are safer!

Hey all,

Ya I kinda thought it wasnt the best area by looking at google maps. I was hoping all of SA didnt look that way,lol..Well, I chose those 2 address's becasue it will be easy for me to get into and it was the cheapest. My plan is for sure to find a different area and a different apartment after a month or 2. Is it safe enough for a month or 2? Im hoping it is.
After that I hope to just live somewhere close to everything. Like shopping, malls, grocery stores, etc. From what I gather NW is the best area....?? But, I was hoping for a nicve place in SE because It seems closest to downtown, SE baptist hospital, and closest to a few trade schools I was interested in. Is that all true? Any good places in SE?
