Do people lose all sense of how to drive once they get on Highway 151 going towards 90?
I do not understand the concept of let's come to a slow crawl around all turns or corners, and not even on a rainy day, it is constantly happening on Highway 151.

I agree. It is slowly getting worse daily.

I go 151 in the mornings and I've noticed where it slows down at 410 (when the left lane should be moving along smoothly), people stay in the left lane as long as they can before they need to exit to 410. When they can't get over to the right, this is what slows everyone down.

But we all know that they are special and don't need to wait in line like everybody else.

OMG!! There is a little gray car who cuts down in front of Lowes (at AR), a lot of people do this and they get on 1604 then take the turn around at Wiseman to avoid the 151/1604 mess. Everyone is very considerate. Well this little car goes past everyone (in front of Lowes) like he is going to make a right turn on Alamo Parkway but he goes straight . He got me ONE time, and I've seen him do it one other time but I wasn't first in line. Now I'm looking for him and I guarantee you that my F250 will win that battle . And no I'm not being a bully in a truck, if I'm in my Jeep or any other vehicle I will get him. It irritates me that people think they are so special.

It's amazing what 151 has turned into. It used to be that secret little highway that hardly anyone knew about, especially back when it was just access roads for a highway that was going to be there one day. Now it is the highway with the rudest drivers in all of SA. I won't go down it anymore unless I am driving at an off hour. It is also where you'll find the most left lane drivers going under the speed limit and getting passed on the right.

Y'mean Autobahn 151?!?

I drive it every workday morning, and even at 5:45am it's crazy. It's a great road that doesn't require the madness witnessed on it every day. I honestly am surprised that there aren't more nasty accidents on it, but perhaps those happen a little latter during the rush hour...

As others have said, 151 appears to be getting worse. Thankfully, I only have to take it once a week now (we moved office locations and I now go to the North Side instead of Downtown). I've noticed that people seem to slow the most at the 151/410 interchange (understandable since there's a lot of "off/on" traffic there) and just about every overpass along the way. In the afternoons, the worst of it (from 90 to AR) seems to be around the Leon Creek bridge. My guess is everyone's looking over the rails to see how high the water has been getting (it's worse when it's actually raining).

It's inevitable, though...the road is two lanes each way and yet there is a tremendous amount of development going on at the 1604 end of the highway. At this rate, we'll be looking at another lane in the future. (That road should have been a toll road, IMHO. Seems like a perfect "shortcut" road to downtown...don't stone me for saying so, though.)

Living out in the VOWC and having to drive to 281N and St Mary's I rarely travel HWY 151. I take 1604 to 90E to 281N.

I don't know why 151 crawls / completely stops in the morning and then in the afternoon.
It is a pain to drive 1604 to 90 but leaving 5-10 minutes earlier makes a BIG difference.

Isn't 151 where we see the most deadly accidents on the news these days?

1604/Braun isn't really a highway, or even a street, it's more of a parking lot. I have no idea why anyone would have moved over there in the past 9 years or so. We were looking at the area in 2001 and could tell it was going to be a cluster and we were right..
