How do you feel about building green? Have you considered building green? Do you take steps to conserve energy? Do you have any simple steps that readers can take to do their part?

I personally would like to see a lot more green homes built. I'd also like to see all the new development turn some sort of a green leaf. I think all area colleges should strive to build greener more than anything though. With local colleges and universities spending millions (especially UTSA and the ACC campuses) in construction right now, it is a prime market to help save energy (and some money). For example, if they added solar panels to campus housing projects the school would save money and gain a better reputation. I also wonder how much HEB, Target, Academy, etc. can do to help out, with all the new stores they are putting in. Any ways this is something that I feel will be very important regarding our future, and it may be worthwhile to write some letters of encouragement to some of the aforementioned as well as others that do a lot of building in San Antonio. What do you think?
