My favorite thing about driving from Katy to San Antonio or Austin is looking at the bluebonnets along the way! They are so beautiful. It really is a nice sight. :]

Maybe its the sandy soil? I'll have to drive down that way in a few weeks.

Maybe I like them together because I went to Jefferson High School. "Red! Blue! We're for you!"

I just posted a thread in the Texas forum. I took blue bonnet and paint brush pics in the Round Top and La Grange area this weekend.
Here's the thread: Blue Bonnets & Indian Paint Brushes

On my way home today,
it was cloudy and the day looked like that,
and next to the road there was a big field with about 40 longhorns grazing.
The picture would have looked as good as that one, but I didn't have my camera.
After lunch I went back, and the longhorns had gone away

GREAT pictures posted here!!!

Two weekends in a row - I've been fortunate enough to be out on the highways enjoying the wildflowers...some of my pictures are here:

I sure hope our temps stay mild a while longer - so we get to enjoy these a while longer! It's been several years since we've seen them do so well!!!

South of town on 37 just past 1604, on the right hand side of the road is a huge field just solid with bluebonnets. I asked my husband how many acres of flowers and he guessed 35 acres. I've never seen anything like it.

That's the horse ranch on the south bound side of I-37 - isn't it beautiful?!!! It's worth the drive out to see that!! Sunday morning when I headed that way, there were people standing out in the rain to photograph those fields!!

Wildflowers so plentiful that the miniature paint ponies are half way covered in 'em.

Most excellent.
