Good. That part of town is so ugly, the faster I get out of it and into the real country, the better. Strip the hills! Build the strip malls! Kill the trees! Spend the dollars! Come one, come all! Yeeee HAW!

thanks for posting that info. Man of us who live that way are anxiously awaiting some solutions. While I don't think this will be sufficient for the long term, I think it will help in the short term.

thanks for the great insight hillcountryhotrodman

Always a pleasure. While you may not be in agreement, it's valid. Years ago, that was a beautiful area.

I do think the work will help and bring some relief. And I agree it should only be a temp fix.

They call it the hill country, I call it beautiful
I'd call it progress if it could be saved
They call it the hill country I call it home
But what will they call it
When it's levelled and paved?

Latest newsletter from District 9 councilwoman Elisa Chan's office had the following update:

Quote:
This week, the contractor is scheduled to continue working at night, with excavation of the rock walls along the south bound lanes, north of Encino Rio. They will also continue the boring operation for placement of the electrical conduit for the traffic signals and then pour concrete in the completed signal foundations. During the night time closures, roadway widening will begin for the future U-turn lanes.
