That Steve McQueen version used the bank in San Marcos for their robbery I think...
and Yes--the Waldo Pepper movie's landing strip is now probably a strip mall somewher around San Marcos...

The Second Spy Kids movie used the Central Library in the movie. I worked downtown while that was being shot. Very interesting to see all the rigs and trailers camped around downtown for a couple of days.

I have always wondered if it was filmed in SA or in LA.

In the movie "Selena" most of the scenes where they are in the bedrooms in the Quintanilla home were shot in the old H-E-B on the corner of Bandera/Hillcrest.

I believe that in "Selena" when they were traveling down different roads, they were on Somerset Road, Nogalitos and Austin Hwy.

I was lucky to be a extra in "Rolling Thunder" - two days of filming at San Antonio International Airport. Great time.

This past spring RT was on several times on one of the various movie channels on AT&T UVerse...it will proably be shown from time to time.

I second the mention of the Brendon Fraser movie...besides the fact that Joanna Going is simply one of the most beautiful women - at least she was in 1997. It too had a scene filmed at the airport.

Save it for Later...you lucky sum'gun... i don't know you, but think you are one of the coolest people just because you were an extra in ROLLING THUNDER...i finally caught that flick on one of the many extended cable Showtime channels a couple of months ago and did not realize until i saw it that San Antonio played such a big role...man when I saw the building that was once known as the Crystal Pistol (i think) as the bar that William Devane went to...well I remember my parents telling me that Marion from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK worked there when i was a kid, as we used to eat at the original Taco Cabana quite a bit...too cool
