Roling Thunder Trivia (from Wikipedia):

This is one of Quentin Tarantino's favourite films. Rolling Thunder Pictures, a company founded by Tarantino that briefly distributed reissues of cult films, was named after this film.

An excerpt from this film is used in the track "Blood Embrace" from the album Superwolf by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Matt Sweeney. The excerpt is Janet telling Rane that she has had an affair with Cliff. It starts with Janet saying, "Charlie, I've...been with another man," and ends with Rane stating, "I'm just gonna sit here."

Oh yeah, that still from Tony78209 features that little abandonded gas station next to Taco Cabana (Hildebrand and San Pedro).

Default Three Hundred Miles for Stephanie

Three Hundred Miles for Stephanie (1981) (TV)

...Based on a true story of a San Antonio Cop and the love for his daughter starring Tony Orlando.

Good movie I'd like to own one day.

The 1975 B-grade horror flick Race With The Devil (broken link), with Peter Fonda and Warren Oakes, was filmed on Rt 16 going towards Bandera...it had a great tagline, "If you're going to race with the devil, you've got to be as fast as Hell!" Actually saw it in a theater 32 years ago...

Cheers! M2

My younger self loved that movie when it was on HBO. That's cool that it was filmed in San Marcos!

Too bad that San Antonio doesn't seem to be attracting many film projects to town anymore.

Default Stop Loss with Ryan Phillippe

This movie hasn't been released yet, but they shot for about 5 days in a parking lot on the old Kelly Field near 90 and 151. It has Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum in it. Really cool. They were shooting the rain and all kinds of stuff. Neat to watch the whole production. I think it will be released next month.

Default Filmography list for San Antonio

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but here are a couple of almost complete list of movies (and TV shows) filmed in San Antonio:

Titles with locations including
San Antonio, Texas, USA Page 1

Titles with locations including
San Antonio, Texas, USA Page 2

Filmography :: VisitSanAntonio.com

I say almost complete because I do not see "Three Hundred Miles for Stephanie" listed so I'm not sure what else is not on the lists. I was surprised at some of the other listings ... Ace Ventura, Jackie Chan's "The Big Brawl" which I saw at the Aztec, Father Hood, Johnny Be Good, Lost Angels, Toy Soldiers, & Syriana.

I'm not sure how much was shot in San Antonio, but here are more movies I have come across on IMDB.com that have San Antonio listed as one of their shooting locations:

Blank Check (1994) with Miguel Ferrer, Michael Lerner, & Debbie Allen
Eddie (1996) with Whoopi Goldberg and a few of the San Antonio Spurs.
The Getaway (1972) with Steve McQueen.
Lolita (1997) with Jeremy Irons & Dominique Swain.
The Newton Boys (1998) with Matthew McConaughey.
Viva Max (1969) with Jonathan Winters & John Astin.
Waking Life (2001) with Ethan Hawk & Wiley Wiggins.
Desert Saints (2000) with Kiefer Sutherland.
Ball & Chain (2004) with Kal Penn (Kumar from White Castle)

...not sure if these were ever released but...
2:22 (2008) with Val Kilmer
From Mexico with Love (2008) with Steven Bauer (Manny in Scarface).
The Bookie (2008) with Kristina Guerrero (the petite latina girl that used to host GreatDay S.A.)
Bubba & Ike (1998) and Come & Take It Day (2001) both with Jesse Borrego who is actually from San Antonio. Some of you may know him from his earlier days on Fame and the artist/druggie from Blood In, Blood Out.
